How to Link (Connect) Plans

If you offer the same plan in multiple languages, you can link those versions together. Linking plans treats them as a single plan with multiple language options, rather than as separate plans. This makes it easier to manage updates, maintain consistency, and ensure users can access the correct language version.

How To Connect Plans

1. Go to the Plans tab in the top left corner of the dashboard.
2. Select the Plan you want to link from the list.
3. At the top of the screen, tap the button next to the original language. This opens the Link Plan dialog.
4. Tap the link icon.
5. Choose the language of the Plan you want to link.
6. Search for the Plan title, or select it from the list if it is already displayed.
7. Tap Next.
8. Tap Connect to confirm and link the two Plans.

Frequently Asked Questions on Linking Plans

Why am I getting "Unexpected non-whitespace character after JSON at position 3 (line 1 column 4)..." when linking Plans?

This error usually appears when the Bible references don’t match between the Plans you’re trying to link.

To resolve it, check that the Bible references are exactly the same across corresponding days in both Plans (including verse ranges). Once the references match, you’ll be able to link the Plans successfully.

How do I unlink a plan?

Only YouVersion staff can unlink a plan. If you would like to request this change, please reach out to the Support Team.
